I've had several lovely weeks off from work, but Fall is officially here so it's time to "go back to school" !!

My first concert back was a TOSOM show and it was a blast.  The band is really starting to jell.  We have our showcase on the 22nd of October so that is a good thing.

In a few days I head to DC to sing with Marvin and the Orchestra.  Marvin wanted to celebrate the music of Judy Garland.  I'm flattered he asked me to be part of the evening.  I will be singing 20 minutes in the first half and 40 minutes in the second half.  This will be a three night event and then we have a five nighter in Pitsburgh!  Haven't done that in a while. It will be fun to hear these arrangements with a full orchestra again.  That's how most of them were conceived.

I have become a soccer mom again.  Jake is back at it.  I'm shamefully competetive so I have to stifle my remarks on the sidelines and try to keep telling myself  "it's just a game with 4th graders...it's just a game with 4th grader...it's  ...."   It doesn't really work.  :)

I'm grateful for the responses that I am getting on finding a home for Shadow.  It's so hard to let a horse go when you are not sure where he will end up.  So thank you.

Right now there are not enough hours in the day to get the things done that I want to get done before winter.  I am gone so much of October.  I hate that part of my life.  I wish I could just do "the blink" and magically apear on stage at show time and then blink back home to Jake and Apple Tree Farm.

Someone has to be here to let the meter man in.  He's afraid of my three shepherds.  Imagine that!

:)

The winds are blowing down in the gulf and the stress is blowing around my house.
I'm just doing last minute things to get ready for the show tonight....everything that I forgot to do....or put off doing.

I feel nervous, but Lenape is a bit like home for me so hopefully that will calm me down.
I look forward to playing the new music again and singing with TOSOM.
We have Duke Levine with us again on guitar so I'm happy about that.  He did all the great guitar work on the CD.

The show is still so new to me that I am still playing around with the order.  Tonight's will be a new one and I hope it flows.  Never know till you try it.

The show is being video taped tonight.

Only a few more weeks until the CD comes out.  I can hardly believe it after all we have gone through.

Well, gotta run.  Time to hop in the car and head to Marlton.

Howdy!

I am attempting to add my first blog so hopefully this will show up.

It is a cloudy day here in North Salem but I feel lucky not to be in Houston Texas or anywhere in the Gulf right now.  Thoughts go out to all the folks affected by the storm.  Stay safe.

Tomorrow is the TOSOM concert in Marlton.  I have had several weeks off so I feel like I always do before the first show back - like I've never done a show in my life!!!!

I'm going to keep this one really short so that I can see if it even works.  Otherwise it would be like rambling on the phone for a full minute before you realized the call had been disconnected.

Have to go outside and help my dad repair some of my horse fences.  He is here visiting so of course that means we work!  Love it!

Talk later,
Linda
